“It feels very icky”: a statement against Catcalling in Groningen (Audio story)

Women all over the world suffer from sexual harassment. The scale of the phenomenon has increased during to the Covid-19 pandemic, as millions of women find themselves confined at home with a violent spouse. But the problem does not stop at the home door. Sexual harassment happens in the workplace and in the streets, too. Anna, who prefers not being identified, is among the many students of the University of Groningen, in the northern part of the Netherlands, to have experienced street harassment. We asked her how she feels about it. And we hear from the activist Roos de Boer, who told the Ukrant how she found the Instagram page Cat Calls Of Groningen to raise awareness about catcalling.
